Well, this is the new normal, for our foreseeable future. As Americans, we do a GREAT job of adapting to stressful circumstances. That being said, this is a life stressor for ALL of us around the country. Especially our youth. Pediatric and adolescent patients NEED structure.
Is 2020 over yet? Well, we are more than halfway to 2021 thankfully, and it probably can’t come sooner our mental health may just depend on it. The riots made us forget about COVID-19 for about a week, and with phase 3 underway, it’s refreshing to see more people walking around and eating outside. Just remember, social distancing should still be practiced and PLEASE let’s continue to wear a mask.

Due to the recent coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic, the death toll is rising. We hear about many patients who are getting sick with COVID-19 and developing significant health consequences, and unfortunately in many cases not making it out of the hospital.
Coronavirus disease 2019, also known as COVID-19, is a viral disease that originated in China. Symptoms include fever, shortness of breath, body aches, and cough. The USA has passed 5600 deaths and has over 236,000 cases1, with the USA having the most reported cases in the world. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading US infectious disease expert, has predicted the coronavirus can kill as many as 200,000 Americans.2
Investing is emotional. Although experts try to drive decisions with data, analytics and evidence, regardless there is emotion fueling much of the financial markets. With that same premise, we know that changes in the market, significant fluctuations and drops lead to emotional responses.
